Olivia Mae Nelson

 Mrs. Olivia Lowe Nelson, 87, of Brunswick, died at her home on May 20, 2019.  She was born on February 26, 1932 to the late Solomon and Martha Gillian and was married to the late Mr. Hank Nelson of Monticello, Fl.

Ms. Olivia graduated from Risley High School in the class of 1952; she was employed with the South East Georgia Health System for more than 20 years as an Environmental Service Supervisor until her retirement in 1992.

Mrs. Olivia attended St. Andrews CME church where she was an active member of the senior choir, stewardess board, missionary and pulpit aid.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading her bible, the Daily Bread and the Brunswick News. 

Mrs. Olivia is preceded in death by her parents Solon and Martha Gillian, husband Hank Nelson, sisters: Cora Louise, Nancy Lee Georges, Edna Mae Gillian, and Katie Collins; brothers Joseph Higgins, Robert Gillian and George Gillian; niece: Patrice Gipson, nephews: Johnny Hillery and Harold Hillery. 

She is survived by one sister: Dena Harrison of Brunswick, GA and one brother Solomon Gillians of Newark, NJ.  Four nephews: Thomas (Brenda) Collins, Joseph (Vivian) Collins, Edgar (Connie) Stanley, Jeffrey Stanley; 12 nieces: Kimberly Hillery-Bottorf (Dennis), Mona Perkins, Marcia Lowery, Michelle Collins, Terri Stanley, Tracy Gillians, Cynthia Gillians, Phillis Gillians, Rhonda Roberts, Yolanda Higgins, Della Brantley, and Monica Hobbs; 10 grand nieces, 7 grand nephews, 4 great-grand nieces, and 14 great-grand nephews; one fictive son Greg Lattany and a host of loving family, and friends.   

Funeral service will be Saturday, June 1, 2019 1:00 pm at St Andrews CME 2101 Albany Street with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Brunswick Funeral Home 2700 Albany Street from 1 to 5 pm. The procession will leave from Brunswick Funeral Home 2700 Albany Street.
