Jaliea Barnes Obituary

Ms. Jaliea Barnes transitioned into her Masters arms on August 8, 2020.  A walk-through viewing will be held Friday, August 14, 2020 from 1 to 5 PM at the Brunswick Funeral Home, Inc. 2700 Albany Street.  Additional viewing will be from 9:00-10:00 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery  3004 Newcastle Street Brunswick, GA, with graveside service to immediately follow at 10:00 AM.  Face coverings are required and the state's social-distancing protocol will be observed.  The procession will leave from 2803 Albany Street.

 

Born in Albany, Georgia, on August 31, 1999.

Jaliea was a current student at Edward Waters College majoring in Communications with future aspirations of working at Tyler Perry Studios. She was a fun, lovable young lady who loved Shucks Seafood and watching movies with her mom. Due to her bright smile and loving personality, she always made a lasting impression when meeting new people. She had a passion for learning and gaining new experiences inside and outside of her community, which led to her involvement in the following extracurricular activities:

Jaliea was surrounded by a large community of love and support: her devoted mother, Tonya Lewis Barnes; father, Odell Barnes; younger brother, Jalen Barnes; grandparents, Rosetta Lewis, L.E. (Beverly) Lewis, Willie (Rhonda) Barnes, and the late Claira Tennell; great-grandparents, the late Mr.& Mrs. James Eppings, Annie Barnes, John (Lizzie) Fain, the late Fannie Magnolia Lewis; special cousins, Mr. Berry & Mrs. Tamika Bailey, DJ Sanford, Rian Bailey; aunts and uncles, Paula J. Lewis, Claudia Myers, Janice Green, Rae Oglesby, Quentis (Sharinika) Wilson, Octavius Jackson, Antonio Barnes, Lorenzo (Shayla) Tennell, and Lorenzo; godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Davenport, Christopher Arnette, and Ali (Carol) Brown; as well as a host of other relatives & friends.Jaliea would have been 21 on August 31, but God had plans beyond ours. We will continue to cherish each moment we were able to spend with her.
