Mrs. Josephine Mungin died September 16, 2020 at Sernior Care Center. Graveside service will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Memory Gardens Cemetery 4995 Highway 17 North. Walk-Thru viewing will be Friday, September 25, 2020 from 1 to 5 pm at the Brunswick Funeral Home 2700 Albany Street. Face coverings should be worn, and social-distancing protocols will be observed. The procession will leave from the Brunswick Funeral Home 2700 Albany Street
Obituary
Sister Josephine Brown Mungin (Jo as she was affectionately called) was born in Baltimore Maryland to Anna and Ulysses Simpson Grant Brown. She grew up in Baltimore, and later moved to New Jersey, where she met and married William A. Henry, to that union one child was born, Lawrence D. Henry.
She later married Emerson Mungin Sr.
Josephine graduated from Montclair College and Bloomfield College (Summa Cum Laude/ BS in Business Administration) in New Jersey. While living in New Jersey she worked as a private duty registered nurse. She also worked for Picatinny Arsenal Military Base, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
After an extensive stay in New Jersey, Josephine and Emerson Sr. moved back to his hometown of Brunswick Ga. She joined Payne Chapel AME church. She began working for the Kings Bay Naval Base, Kingsland GA in Personnel Management until she retired. Her hobbies included crocheting and sewing- she was quite the seamstress.
After an extended illness Josephine left this world and went to be with the Lord.
